The Step2 Company, LLC ('Step2') is the largest rotational molding company in the US, employing approximately 900 employees in three facilities in Celeveland, Ohio and Ft. Valley, Georgia. Step2 focuses primarily on manufacturing and marketing high-quality products for children and for the home and garden.
History
In 1991, the founder of The Little Tikes Company, Thomas G. Murdough, Jr., founded Step2 as a second venture into the rotational molding business. Equipped with an underlying philosophy of quality, value, and service, and faithful in a commitment to the highest customer satisfaction, he quickly grew the company into a Brand renown for durability and customer service. His mission to go "A Step Beyond" in the manufacture and design of high quality products has been the foundation and backbone of the company.
Since its inception, Step2 has grown both domestically and internationally. With over one million square feet of US factories and licensing arrangements with The Gunica Company in Korea, The Step2 Company has become a global player in the toy industry, and is one of the world's largest rotational molders. Step2 products are widely distributed throughout the United States, Canada, and over 70 foreign countries.
The Step2 Company began operations in 1991 with five employees and now has approximately 900 full-time employees. In 2006, Step2 was acquired by Liberty Partners, a private equity firm in New York, NY.
