I have been wearing this model of Rockports (7100) for over 15 years. A store near me told me that they were actually discontinued at one point by Rockport. There was so much demand for these that they were brought back. For me, I like the fit and feel of these shoes.
[3] The leather is much stiffer and the shoes are just not as comfortable. They still give good arch support and the assembly quality seems okay, but only time will tell how they hold up to daily use. I hope Rockport returns to their high standards of manufacturing in the future. I'll probably look for something else when it's time to replace these.

I have narrow feet and it's hard to find shoes. This one works really well though, as it is a rare reasonably priced shoe that comes in all widths! It can look casual or dressy and has a comfortable rubber soul. Be careful though, a friend of mine scuffed his pretty badly by sitting on a concrete step.
