Every Innova holistic dog food, cat food, puppy food Innova holistic dog food, cat food, puppy food and dog treat product is made using farm-fresh, natural ingredients from each food group to provide for optimal nutrition and peak performance. [1] Animal feeding tests using AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials) AAFCO opnbrktAssociation of American Feed Control Officialsclsbrkt procedures substantiate that Innova Adult Dog Food provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages. [2] Innova Adult Dry Dog Food is available in 6.6 lb., 16.5 lb. and 33 lb. packages. [2]
A great food, i just got my new bag today and its a great looking food, my 13 week cavalier king charles spaniel LOVES IT. I had also ordered some Orijen but am now unsure I will want to even try it with him UNLESS he starts not doing well on the red meat EVO, but I have investigated a LOT OF DOG FOOD and both are EXCELLENT CHIOICES however EVO is part of the Natura family and they make Innova another top of the line food but with grain. [3] My dog has improved coat, no problem switching - is more readily available than Cal. Nat. by Innova so decided to switch. Added 1/4 C. to his 2 C. of food for 2 weeks then switched over. He will eat about 1/2 to 1 C less of food a day compared to California Natural which is a great food for a dog with allergies and you will feed less than a lower quality dog food. It takes a dog up to 3 weeks to build new bacteria for a new food so switching slowly is important. [3] I love Natura (the makers of Innova, Innova Evo, and California Natural) dog food. I've worked in the pet industry for almost 5 years and they are one of the few independently owned dog food companies whose food is readily available at smaller pet retail stores. [3] My two Boxers are very allergy prone and they just love Innova EVO dog food. I'm glad to have found a food that is both healthy, protein rich and grain free that they will eat. They eat the chicken and turkey and potato variety. [3]
The last time I was in the pet store I was given numerous samples of Innova Dog Food in the green bag. I feel a little guilty giving him the same thing every single meal of every single day. When I was running out of his usual diet, and unable to get to the pet store, I decided to mix a little with his normal food, and see how he liked it, and the basic, over-all results. [4]
Innova Dog Food brings the world of pet nutrition closer than ever to that of healthy human nutrition by incorporating lean meats and cottage cheese, vegetables and fruit along with whole grains to create a dog food unequaled in nutrition and health benefits. Innova dog and cat foods contain whole steamed, carrots which are free of pesticides. When ingredients are fresh and not pre-processed, they retain all their flavors and important nutrients (including 'protector' antioxidants). [2] There HAS to be puppy food for puppies and senior food for seniors. Wild dogs all eat the same thing no matter how old they are! Wolf puppies don't eat a different part of the deer than their adult packmates! The only reason Natura makes different lifestage foods with regular Innova and Cal Nat is because most people don't want to accept an all lifestage food. Take Canidae for example, they only make all lifestage diets. [3]
Just used Merrick, now Innova, in a month or so, going to cycle in some Orijen food. Don't really notice any immediate changes to my dogs but their poop is more firm and solid, slightly smaller than before. [3] I recently responded to this food as just Innova, and not EVO ~ so I need to say, while the ingredients are good, please be aware that the ADULT food is 42% crude protein. That is VERY high for most dogs, so if you do not have a Working Dog ~ ie. [3] I have only tried the canned food evo and my dog's love it mixed in with regular innova, but if I give any more than a tablespoon they get diarrhea. [3]
What great results. My yellow lab., had been thorough many different kinds of quality dog foods and has had the best results in terms of weight, allergies, energy, coat, and overall wellness with EVO. I do mix once in a while EVO Vennison which they both love. I would not change this food though expensive you cannot put a price on a healhty dog. [3] I am in the process of switching from chicken soup to evo. The chicken soup dog food is for the most part liked by my dog, but he really loves the evo. The one with the fierce-looking Boston Terrier on the bag LOL. Stools are 'healthier' and Pepe's coat is super shiny, he stinks less too. I also tried the evo canned turkey / chicken formula, mixed with the dry, and he just loves it. [3] My GSP developed allergies after being vaccinated (only doing homeopathic vaccinations now) and was unable to cope with all sorts of expensive brands of dog food. He developed eczema and bloody diarrhoea. It wasn't until he was put on a grain free diet that the symptoms abated. Evo is the only dog food that he seems to cope with, he looks healthy and is now able to maintain his weight. [3] Every dog is different and will not always react differently to the same foods as any other dog. I work in a store where we only sell higher end dog foods such as wellness, solid gold, nutro, merrick, and all the others. I sell this food every day to people but at home use Pedigree with fantastic results. [3]
"High protein dog foods are made for working dogs, hunting dogs, lactating dogs, in general dogs that aren't the average house pet. It is not a good idea to feed high-protein to a less active dog. Overloading your dog with proteins will eventually destroy his kidneys causing him to die a sad and early death! Before starting a high protein diet for any reason, check with your vet to see if it is really necessary for your dog." [3] From what I've come to understand, high protein dog foods should not be fed to dogs. Even if your dog loves it, and the ingredients are incredible doesn't mean it's good for him. [3] So good! I bought this because it was a top rated dog food. My Shiba Inu puppy has been on it since he got home from the breeder. [3] The male doesnt like it anymore, but the girl loves it. I was feeding them Canidae before and they didnt like it. The male is very picky what he likes. I'm still searching for a dog food he likes. [3] The reason for the switch in dog food is because of the carcinogens that I learned of in other dog foods. One main reason was that my dog's coat was full of dander and he was constantly shedding. [3] I am a new owner to a 12 week old Black lab. Unfortunately she has been on 4 different dog foods. [3] Now that the cattle work has slowed down, I've taken the time to conducted my own independant research on dog foods. [3]
We manufacture our dog, cat and ferret foods under the strictest of standards for safety, reliability and consistency. It's this dedication to pet food safety and quality control that sets us apart from other pet food brands. [7] Not your average dog treat, HealthBars are packed with ingredients from all five food groups. [6] Five food groups in one can! Innova Cat and Kitten Food blends chicken, turkey, lactose free milk & other ingredients into a moist meal. [6] Innova Puppy Food includes ingredients and micronutrients your growing puppy needs. [6] Just as dieticians recommend following the U.S. Department of Agriculture food pyramid for our own dietary needs, Innova applies this same principle when creating foods for our animal friends. [6] Lower in calories, Innova Reduced Fat Dry Cat Food still supplies the nutrition and flavor your cat craves. [6] Low in calories, but high in taste, Innova Reduced Fat Canned Cat Food can help your cat keep the extra weight off. [6]
Innova Senior Canned helps improve a senior dog's digestive system, relieve joint pain & provided holistic nutrition. [6] Make the aging transition easier on your large dog. Innova's Large Breed Senior formula helps him maintain ideal body weight and receive the nutrition he needs. [6]
Innova Adult Dog goes above and beyond to provide complete and balanced nutrition for the life and good health of your dog. [2] Our Innova products also contain beneficial probiotic supplements, which are not required by the AAFCO minimums. Natura adds these important vitamins and minerals, in proper balance to its foods to ensure that your pet gets all the necessary nutrients for life and good health every day. [2]
You will see a significant, healthy difference with Innova Adult Dog's high levels of natural antioxidant vitamins, and rich supply of Omega 6 and Omega 3 Essential Fatty acids. [2]
You have to feed less then what it says because of weight gain. I use a holistic vet and he highly recommends Innova especially if you have a dog with a compromised immune system. My lab who is 4 is very healthy and also gets the same diet as my golden and I have found that with both, especially the lab that it has cut down on the shedding, those nasty eye "boogies" their breath is good and also my goldens ears have never been cleaner. I give this kibble a high mark. [3] Wean the dog off of Evo onto Innova, it has less protein which will be easier to digest, but still a nutritious diet. I had this problem when I wanted to put my chihuahuas on a raw diet. [3] My 12 week old Yorkie loves the EVO chicken small bites. He's only been on it for a short time. I'm mixing it with his beef babyfood. I've read all of the reviews about EVO and think that it's a wonderful food, but I'm concerned about giving it to him so young. Is it a problem to feed this to young small breed dogs? If anyone out there can help me out with this I'd really appreciate it. [3] I use and my dog loves EVO red. I recently got my friend to switch her dog off eukanuba and onto EVO red, it took a lot to convince her!! Her dog is a two year old choc. female lab. After reading some of these posts I am nervous! If it comes back that I "begged" her to switch to a food that could cause damage (better than the old stuff I know) I will not be able to live with the guilt. [3] We are three time World Finalists in Disc Dog sports, as well as titled in four other sports. Our dogs are not pets. they are working dogs. THAT is why Evo works for them and may not work for some of these other pets. Just because the food didn't work for your pet does not mean it's not a good food. it just means that your pet was on the wrong diet for him. [3] As a rating for Evo. I give it 5 stars. It has a very high protein content, but if you have a working dog (or a dog like mine, who doesn't eat and mainly just "picks" throughout the day) this is a good food for you. If your dog is prone to overeating, you have to watch him/her VERY carefully on this stuff. It's some great, rich food. [3] I started feeding my english bulldog this food and its been a hard transition from natures recipe to evo my boy has been vommiting and has diaherra i did the small amounts first and his body cant handle the high protein but its only been one week i will give it two or three more days because i know that this is very good food, its not for every dog my boy is 11 months old. [3]
This food is amazing! It's the closest to a raw food diet but cost lest than that. It is higher in price for dog kibble, but is worth it. I have a Chihuahua and a Beagle, they love it. They dont go poop as much and their stool is less smelly. [3] I have worked in the pet industries for 10 years now and would just like to offer the following advice for people trying new foods for their dog. [3] Our dogs had diarrhea, even after transitioning for THREE WEEKS. No other stress or cause could be determined. Firm belief that some of these foods are too rich for dog digestive systems. [3] Please just remember to change your dog slowly to a new food, give it at least 1 month to see changes in skin and coat, and don't be upset just becuse I kind doesn't work for you. [3] "Never feed the high-protein foods to a dog that isn't active or in recovery from surgery, injury or illness. Dogs are not carnivores even though many people mistakenly believe them to be. [3] Fed my Great Dane+Rottweiler mix dog this food for 1 year. During that time, she would eat grass all the time, fart a lot, be hungry all the time, beg a lot, poop a lot and have diahorrea occasionally. [3] This food sounds good and wanted it to work but my dog was sick for days after having a tiny bit mixed in with his regular food. [3]
While I have noticed a change for the better in my dog's coat, I still see a considerable amount of dry skin. He is a black lab and we are currently living in Montana, a very dry climate. Is his dry skin a hereditary trait, or will we see a change in his coat upon arrival to a humid climate? We are looking for the best possible food for our lab and would appreciate any advice concerning his diet. [3] Innova EVO is based on the principles of an enhanced raw food diet. It includes raw fruits and vegetables as well as chicken and turkey parts. [3] I have switched my lab's dry food to Nature's Logic (he still gets canned Innova EVO 95% as toppers). It is not grain free. [3] They eat it in the morning and have a raw food diet at night. My golden retriever has osteosarcoma and when she was diagnosed almost 6 months ago this is when I made the change to Innova I needed a diet that was grain free and high in protein and as close to raw as possible. She is doing extremely well and had no problems switching to this food. [3]
I was thinking of switching to evo, but my dog's are doing so good on Innova that I thought why fix what isn't broke. [3]
I am the mom of a senior dog, Kuma, my laid back 13 year old chow chow. While chows are sometimes purported to be mean, he is sweet, reserved and surprisingly submissive toward his feline roommates, Bridget, Jaz and Nikko, and even strangers. He still loves to fetch and play. He does have a flea allergy, occasional skin problems, as well as arthritis. Normally all foods I've given him are fine for him, and he hasn't had any bad reactions, but he likes some better than others of course. [4]
I gave up. Then I read Dr. Pitcairn's book on natural animal health (a fine one entitled "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats"), in which he recommended as an alternative to raw food natural food purchased at a specialty store. If you do not want your pets to ingest ingredients in foods that have been genetically modified, these "natural" foods do not meet the test. [5] For that, you have to go to pet foods labeled "Organic," i.e., Karma (made by the same company as Innova with 95% organic ingredients), Castor & Pollux Organix (95% organic ingredients), and Newman's Own Organics (70% organic ingredients). Now don't be deceived into thinking that you will be free from a repeat of the recent pet food scare by purchasing such products. [5] Innova pet foods are the very best pet food on the market! Our animals are not obese even though they free feed and our cats have has no problems with FUS. [5]

All Natura products have been tested for melamine contamination and all tests confirmed NO melamine in our foods. [7] Natura is a family-owned pet food company dedicated to making the healthiest pet food in the world. [7]
Specially formulated for older dogs, Senior Plus has balanced levels of protein and fat as well as optimal amounts of vitamin E. [6] When I first got my pom I had him on the red meat formula due to his chicken allergies, shortly thereafter he was inhaling water as though he was severely dehydrated, his stools were foul smelling and dark and he was urinating everywhere. We kept him on this diet for a full week to give it a shot but with no improvement. I think this may be great for working breeds or very active dogs but the protein levels were much too high for my house dog. [3] Again, no loose stools or negative reactions. I guess we are lucky, or this good is really great because we just switched 4 dogs to EVO and zero negative problems. [3] I read a few reviews on here that said that EVO was meant for working dogs only and that small dogs don't do well on it because of the high protein level which could lead to kidney problems. [3] We started feeding evo to our Toy Manchesters on the advice of a customer who was showing our dogs.at first it looked good,,less poop better haircoat. but in time we had problems with patchy hair coat, and frequent urination. all tests were negative for any mange, thyroid etc. after removing from evo it was a turn around.it is dangerous for small active house dogs. [3] We started switching him to Evo and he had absolutely no problems switching over and preferred Evo to the Pedigree. Since we switched him his coat is gorgeous and he has the energy of a puppy and also no more horrible breath, his teeth are white again (not covered in horrible plague as much as before). We are completely satisfied with this product and even though it may not be the best for every dog it's the best for our dog. [3] I have two pit mixes who do awesome on the Evo. My Great Dane is on the Cal Nat though because the Evo was a little rich for him. That's the only thing with Evo, some dogs don't take well to the super high protein content. [3] I like the fact that when you open the can it smells like real meat, great for active dogs, I have a very atheletic weimaraner and hes doing well on it, hes very fit, all muscle. [3]
All of my friends use Diamond or EVO for there dogs ( Pitbulls, Lab/Boxer, and other hunting breads). [3] The issues that everyone seems to have with the Evo is because the dogs are used to a lower protein diet (essentially a not as nutritious diet) so their livers are not strong enough to break down the protein. [3] If you have a working dog, try Evo. This is one of the best diets for true working animals I've come across. [3]
Cats are carnivores dogs are omnivores. Wild dogs do not eat a meat only diet, so to over feed your dog meats you are damaging him." [3] You can feed it to your puppy, adult, or senior dog. We Americans have this strange thing with lifestages. [3]
The EVO is perfectly safe for smaller breed dogs as well as being suitable for puppies. [3] EVO works very well for some dogs, but for many it is too rich or too high in ash. It should not be fed to puppies because of the high calcium level. [3] Immediately after weening, my new Queensland was put on EVO at the strong recommendation of a close friend and dog owner. [3] We have 5 dogs (2 full bred Cockers and 3 rescue dogs of mixed breed) and switched them from Nutro Ultra to Evo. [3] We have been giving to our dogs Acana. Though we only give each 1 cup per day (250grm), they have gained 3-4 kilos (they are fat!). We switched on to a light code in this brand, but the dogs (Siberian Huskies) haven't lost any weight. [3] Our dogs do five sports and work stock. There is not a day that goes by that our dogs are not running for hours at a time and thinking on their feet. [3]
Acana is very very good for the coat and massiveness of the dog. but!. [3] The plus side is that the dogs absolutely love it. I am feeding them the Red Meat version. [3] I've found the recommendation to be scientifically sound and I've got one very healthy, happy and active working cattle dog. [3] Working dogs are dogs that spend 18 hour shifts doing search and rescue. Working dogs are police and bite trained animals that put their life on the line for 10 hour shifts with their partners on a police force. [3] Working dogs are dogs that work on a farm for 8+ hours seperating stock and differentiating and thinking. [3]
Oh well. still good food. My girl did not do well on this at all. The ingredients show to be good, but the high ash content makes me curious about the quality of those ingredients. I once thought this was a superior food, but no I am having second thoughts. still better than allot of other foods out there though. [3] Tried to gradually introduce EVO however it didn't work well. They picked out the old food (CS) and only ate the EVO. So we could not do the gradual thing and just switched to EVO all at one time. [3] Awesome food though! Oh, and Evo is considered an all lifestages food. [3] My friend begged me to try a new, better food. She GAVE me a bag of EVO red just to kick my butt into action. I switched Hershey over slowly and she did fine. She eats less food and she devours it! After a two week period she stopped digging at her paws and her coat is beautiful and soft. [3] I really LOVE the idea of this food, but my Rottweiler keeps getting ear infections! I rotate between Origen Fish, Adult, and Evo Red Bites, but her ears seem to be worse with the Evo. Is this a problem for anyone else? When we do switch the food, the introduction is gradual so I am not sure if that's the problem. [3] I have used the Evo small bites for my Boston terriers and Yorkies. They love this food, beautiful coats and nice stools. [3]
Evo was not created for the pet with a lot of energy. This food was created for the working animal in mind. [3] The ingredients are wonderful though. I can only use the 95% canned meats for a topper due to his food allergies, but he got a very rumbly tummy from it. [3] I plan back and forth just for variety without the food adjustment mess. My pup likes both flavors well enough so that I can use individual kibbles for training treats. He loves the food. [3] My yellow lab, who is very lean and fit, does not do well on food with protein level 26% or less. I think this could be due to the fact that he is very active (gets daily exercise and go on 6 mile round trip hike on Sat and Sun with my husband and I). [3]
Science Diet, Solid Gold, Premium Edge and currently Chicken Soup. She does not seem to really care for the Chicken Soup. She is just picking at her food. I know she has been changed alot, but I am just trying to find something she will eat and enjoy. He stool is not solid (really soft but not diarrhea). [3] I spent about 4 weeks transitioning Matilda and Zigfried to the food and had no problems with stool or stomach issues. Their coats, which were always good, are now briliant and they are happier and livlier than ever. [3] No allergies, No problems at all. I am so glad she can have a much better quality food with out the allery problem now. [3] I must add though! If your going to feed a great food, don't forget about the treats! Why buy store junk snacks when your feeding a higher quality of food. [3] I have found that the local feed stores that appreciate and stock high quality pet foods are the most reasonably priced (ie. [3]
I have researched so many foods and only want natural/organic/holistic stuff going in her. A few of the post mentioned the ash content, Now of course Im concerned about that !! She gets a cup and a half with a wet topper in the morning and the same at night, with a 1 or 2 times a week breakfast of scrambled eggs, plain yogurt, blueberries with the kibble. [3] Appears to be a good food, but it was too rich for my guy. He has a sensitive stomach and I think it was too much for him. [3] Best in the land!!! Accept NO imitations! The absolutely BEST food for your "Best Friend". [3]
My only recommendation, especially if switching from Iams, Science Diet or a grocery store food, is to make the switch gradually over 3-4 weeks. This food is worth the extra cost. [3] Excellant food. I also feed the large breed to my spayed female pitty, she does wonderful on this food. [3]
Barley is a major food and animal feed crop, a member of the grass family Poaceae. [2] Chicken is an excellent source of protein. The chicken Natura uses is tested to be free of hormones, antibiotics and pesticides, as well as chemical preservatives such as BHA, BHT and ethoxyquin. Natura does not add these harmful ingredients, and they are not present in the ingredients we use. This is an important distinction, because manufacturers are not required to list substances that are present in the ingredients when they go into the pet food. [2] Chicken meal is considered to be the single best source of protein in commercial pet foods. [2]
AAFCO regulates minimum standard quantities of vitamins and minerals in levels that pets need to survive. All pet food manufacturers supplement their products with vitamins and minerals. Beyond meeting these minimum requirements, all Natura products contain a complete vitamin and mineral supplement program that helps pets to thrive, not just survive. [2] When comparing ingredients in pet foods, it pays to ask about the source of the ingredients. Are they fresh, dried, powdered, or otherwise processed? These characteristics affect both the flavor and nutritional value of the final product. [2]
Natura selects only fresh, whole fruits and vegetables for our pet foods. They are not pre-processed, so they retain flavors and important nutrients (including 'protector' antioxidants). [2]
Natura uses sunflower oil that has been cold-pressed and protected from exposure to heat and light. This very high quality, very palatable fat is used in California Natural and Innova formulations. [2]
My American Bulldog mix has been on this since we adopted him about 9 months ago (He was approx. 18 mos. old). We started with regular Innova then moved him to the EVO Red Meat large bites, which he loves, but it gives him the squirts - he also farts like mad, but I was told that was a bulldog thing. I think it's just too rich for him. [3] I am looking to try Innova large breed puppy. I am nervous to change her again. [3]
I like it better than Innova EVO because, in addition to having no corn, wheat, soy, and rice, it also does not contain potatoes. [3] P.S.- I do still give my yellow lab Innova EVO RM (large bite) as treats from time to time. He loves them. [3]
Innova Bag at Amazon Shop our Sporting Goods store Qualified orders over $25 ship free. [4] I am giving it a two out of five for Kuma. It might make a great dish for me though; just throw in some angel hair pasta and voila! Scrumptious! Update : I had Kuma for 15 years, and he passed away from old age at 16 1/2. In retrospect giving Kuma this product, not made specifically for seniors, even though it was added to his regular senior food, was probably not wise. [4] I generally stick to products for senior dogs, though will fall back on others if I can't get to the pet store, or can't find it at the grocery store. He has been on a pretty consistent diet of Nutro Natural Choice Senior as it provides him with glucosamine and chondroitin, which is very helpful for his creaky, slow, painful joints, and also for his skin. [4]
My dogs like it a lot, but I am on the trail of switching to organic when I hopefully find the right and final brand. [5] I tried to switch my dogs/cats over to raw food, since many of my friends have had such success, many diseases and physical problems even disappearing. [5]
