041 The Wedding at Cana - A Bible Story for Children

John 1:1-11
Jesus was invited to a wedding in Cana, another town in Galilee. The apostles were invited, too, as well as Mary, Jesus' mother. The wedding party was very gay, with good food to eat and wine to drink, and music and dancing. But before the party was over, the wine ran out.
"There is no more wine left," Mary said to her son at their table.
Standing nearby were six large water jars. Jesus knew it would spoil the party if there was no more wine, so he called over the servants. "Fill those jars with water," he told them.
The servants filled the jars to the top. "Now pour out a cup for the chief servant to taste," Jesus said.
The servants poured some of the water into a cup and took it to the head servant. He sipped the water, which had been turned to wine, and was delighted with it, although he had no idea where it had come from.
"You are a fine host," the chief servant said to the bridegroom as he served the wine to the guests. "Most people drink the best wine first, then serve the weak wine when they think the guests have drunk so much that they will not know good wine from bad. But you saved the best wine until now."
The guests began dancing and drinking again, and the feast went on. This was the first of Jesus' miracles, and his apostles believed in him more than ever.
